Extramural update 4

Hello All, Sorry for the delay on getting the new extramural update on here, so I thought I would give you two weeks worth.

First, 2 weekends ago the brothers Justin and Preston Carr travelled to Iowa City, Iowa. Both did extremely well. Preston was line judge in the women's final, and Justin was the referee in the Men's final.

Also, Fladda, Strunk, and myself travelled to Pensacola, Florida. Strunk did very well, and did a semi-final game. Fladda and I both did the Open final as well as the Women's final. I was the referee in the Open, and line judge in the women's, while Fladda was back judge in the Open and field judge in the Women's. I was named All-Tournament.

This past weekend, Tawab travelled to Western Kentucky University, and was selected to work a semi-final game. While Vinci and Mason both travelled to Maryland and also worked Semi-Final games.

We do not travel again until the tournament at Souther Mississippi in December so I will update you then.

Also, in December look for daily updates from the Orange Bowl Tennis tournament in Miami, as well as daily updates from the ACIS National Flag Football Tournament.

Extramural Update 3

This weekend was a busy weekend for the officials of OUIM. We travelled to two tournaments. We sent Ben Strunk and John Mason to The Ohio State University a long with Brad Whittaker and Brian Beam to be on the officials' committee. We also sent Preston Carr and Ian Swoboda to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where alumni Chad Indorf and Tommy Segi were on the officials' committee.

Carr and Swoboda both did a very good job. Upon arrivial, Carr was named a crew chief. After officiating 10 plus games on Saturday, both were selected to officiate in the CoRec Semi-Finals. Carr was the line judge and Swoboda was the field judge in a hotly contested game.

Strunk and Mason also did a great job at The Ohio State University. Both went a made heads turn. Strunk was the referee in a men's quarter final that had multiple over times and was also the line judge in a CoRec semi-final. Mason also did a phenominal job. He was the referee in the CoRec final, and also named an all-tournament official, earning a bid to the ACIS National tournament in New Orleans.

After this past weekend it takes the OUIM total to 3 who will be attending nationals. Next weekend Fladda, Allensworth, and Nye will be travelling to West Florida, while the brothers Carr will be travelling with Beam to Iowa. Please congratulate Mason, Strunk, Carr, and Swoboda on a job well done, and wish the officials travelling this upcoming weekend good-luck.

Extramural Update 2

Hello all, it's time for a the next installment of the extramural update series. This past weekend, Greg Allensworth, Kevin Nye, and Ian Swoboda, travelled to Murfreesboro, Tennessee to officiate and the TIRSA flag football tournament. It was a cold, wet, and muddy tournament. On Saturday, the fields were basically one big puddle. However, the three worked through it, and represented our university and program to the expectations that we expect.

By the end of the tournament, Swoboda was recognized by being the line judge in a semi-final match up. Allensworth and Nye both officiated in the Men's final. Nye was the field judge and Allensworth was the referee. In the end, Allensworth was recognized as an all tournament official.

Next weekend, Ben Strunk and John Mason will be travelling to The Ohio State University while Ian Swoboda and Preston Carr will be travelling to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. If you see or talk to these people please wish them luck!
