US OPEN Update 10

Well every, this is my last US Open update, I was glad to hear a lot of people kept up with my posts, so thank you. My last two days at the open were fun long days. Both days I was put on Stadium Court 4 where I mostly had main draw doubles. It was a lot of fun and I got to see some great tennis. On Saturday, I did receive my first overrule. That was a little disappointing, I was hoping to go the whole time I was there without one, but it did not happen. Also, Saturday night was our umpires party at the hotel. Lets just say the food was great, and the beverages were better! On

Sunday, I did receive a little bit of a promotion I guess you can call it, because I was put on the far sideline. This is unheard of for newbies to be put over there. Normally we have to stay on the near sideline or baseline in case we mess up so the chair can easily cover for us. Needless to say being put on the far side was a highlight of my tournament.

Again, thank you all for your support during my time at the Open, and soon I will be posting clinic information for the upcoming quarter.

US Open Video 2

US OPEN Update 9

Well all, today I had a little earlier start. First, excuse me if I get off track in this post, I am writing it as I watch the Dent/Navarro match, which is currently at 4-5 in the 5th, going on its 4th hour. But the reason why I had an earlier start, is because I was selected to do chairs in the junior tournament today. I was the first and third chair on court 10. My first match I thought I was in for a long one, the first set being 7-6 and 3 in the tie-break. It ended up ending in two sets. My second match, was routine.

All in all it has been a good day and a good week. Update 10 tomorrow night will be my last update, and I will also be posting my last pictures tonight, so I hope you all enjoy.

US OPEN Update 7&8

Hello all! Sorry for not posting last night, but I did not get back to my room until about 11, so I said forget it. So, yesterday my court was suppose to only have 5 matches, however, because matches ran behind and what not we got moved a 6th match from another court so my day was a little longer than expected. In total I had 2 men's matches, 3 women's matches and a mixed doubles match. Also, yesterday morning was a Q&A with Violet Palmer, NBA referee. Again it was very informative.

Today was a much shorter day for me. I had a total of three matches, one men's and two women's. The men's match was very competitive and contentious. While the two women's matches were well routine. Today I also received some good news and bad news. The bad news was that I have an earlier report time. The good news is that I was selected to do chairs tomorrow for the US Open Juniors. I am really excited for this. Also, keep your eyes posted for some more photos coming soon, mainly of the National Tennis Center.

US OPEN Update 6

Hello All! Another update from beautiful NYC. Today was day six at the open, and I was on what I like to call beer garden court 5. We had a good line up of matches today, 4. 1 women's singles, 1 men's singles, and 2 men's doubles:
Petre Matic (CRO) v. Severine Bremond Beltrame (FRA)
Flavio Cipolla (ITA) v. Julien Benneteau (FRA)
Andrea Beck (GER)/Simon Grew (GER) v. Daniel Nestor (CAN)/Nenand Zimonjic (SRB) [2]
Mar Giquel (FRA)/Fabrice Santoro (FRA) v. David Skoch (CZE)/Igor Zelenay (SVK)

From what you could see above I had the number 2 seed in doubles Nestor and Zimonjic, and they did not disappoint. I also had the Magician Fabrice Santoro, so it was a good day. Also, this morning Violet Palmer, NBA Official, came and spoke to us. She did a wonderful job.

Talk to you all tomorrow.
