National Update-The final update

Happy New Year everyone, this is the final update for 2009. The ACIS National Championships wrapped up today. Ohio University was represented, about as well as anyone could expect. First, congratulations to Team Blackout, the sportsmanship award winners for the CoRec division. Also, Megan Crysler was first team All American in the CoRec division. As far as the officials go, we all did a fantastic job. In the end, Dan Fladda was the referee in a men's open game. Myself, Larry Baker, and Dave Robison all worked championship games. Robison was Back Judge in the CoRec final, Baker was the Back Judge in the Men's Open Final, and I was the Line Judge in the Men's Open. Robison, Baker and myself were also honored as All-American Officials.

A recap of the National tournaments. OUIM received four All-American officials: Allensworth, Baker, Indorf, and Robison.

Keep your eyes pealed for basketball regional updates later this winter.

National Update Number 2

Today at the ACIS nationals OUIM was represented well. I was a crew chief, and everyone else had great days officiating. No major problems. Team Black Out made it to the playoffs and lost in the quarter finals. Fladda Ref'd a CoRec Semi, and I was field judge of a quarter final collegiate.

Today was also the conclusion of the NIRSA National Championships. Chad Indor did what we all strive to do and became an All-American and white capped the women's final.

All in all it was a good day, and check back tomorrow for the conclusion of the ACIS National Championships.

National Update Number 1

Well nationals are off and running. First the NIRSA National Championships have already reached the quarter finals in each division, and will conclude tomorrow. Chad Indorf is doing a stellar job and was the referee of a men's quarter final game.

Today was the first day of games at the ACIS National Championships in New Orleans. I was a crew chief, aand my crew had a pretty good good day, with one game being ended do to sportsmanship. Baker, Fladda and Robison all had good days. Fladda's last game went into halftime 34-0. The team losing, ended up winning the game 34-32.

Team Blackout had a good day. It started off rough, and they lost their first game. However, they were able to rebound and win there next two games, qualifying for the playoffs.

All in all it was a good day at nationals for OUIM.

Extramural Update Number 5

This past weekend we sent Chad Indorf, Dan Fladda, Kevin Nye, Doug Vinci, and Tim Tawab to Southern Mississippi to the final regional tournament of the year. All of our officials represented our program amazingly. Kevin Nye and Doug Vinci both were selected to be playoff officials. Tim Tawab received a quarterfinal game. Finally Dan Fladda was the back judge in the men's collegiate championship game and Chad Indorf was the referee in the men's open championship game. When all was said and done Mr. Indorf received a bid to the NIRSA Nation Championships in Tampa, Florida the last week of December.

To summarize the extramural season, Ohio University will be represented by 6 officials at the two national championships: myself, Matt Bachman, Dave Robison, Dan Fladda, and Larry Baker in New Orleans for the ACIS National Championships and Chad Indorf will be at the NIRSA National Championships in Tampa Florida. If you see or talk to these people, wish them luck.

Extramural Update #4

This weekend we sent two officials to Western Kentucky University, Dan Fladda and Brad Hannahs. Both represented our programs wonderfully. Brad Hannahs represented our program in the men's championship game, and Dan Fladda was the Line Judge in the Women's Championship game. When all was said and done Fladda was honored as an all tournament official and will be joining myself, Bachman,Baker, and Robison in New Orleans. Please congratulate these two if you see or talk to them.

Also joining us in New Orleans on New Years will be our Co-Rec Champions Team Blackout, as they also represented Ohio University at the tournament. The team had the Men's and Women's MVP of the Co-Rec Division as well as an all tournament player. To top it off, Team Blackout won in convincingly fashion.

Our regional extramural travel is not done. December 5th through the 7th, we are sending 6 officials to Southern Mississippi: Tim Tawab, Chad Indorf, Ian Swoboda officials Joe Lippitt, Doug Vinci, and Kevin Nye. If you see or talk to these gentlemen, wish them luck.

Dave Robison and Larry Baker both received bids to the ACIS National Tournament. Thus they will be joining myself and Matt Bachman in New Orleans.
